Korea Therapy Yoga Association (KTYA), the largest yoga organization in Korea, has announced three outstanding candidates from the 45th RYTK300+ Yoga Teacher Certification Examination, held on December 20. The exam marks an important gateway into KTYA¡¯s integrated seven-track qualification system and its YO&P Membership (Yoga & Pilates Membership), which together aim to cultivate ¡°AI-era professional yoga teachers¡± rather than short-term certificate holders.
The 45th examination was overseen by Chief Examiner Kang Shin-jung, Director of Daom Pilates Yoga at Hyundai Department Store Ulsan and Chair of the K-Wall International Alliance (K-WIA). Kang emphasized that the RYTK300+ exam ¡°is not simply about obtaining a certificate, but about selecting the first professional leaders who will be entrusted with other people¡¯s bodies and minds.¡± Candidates were evaluated comprehensively across theory, practice and teaching ability.
Three examinees were selected as outstanding performers. From Hill Yoga & Pole in Hwajeong-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju, Yu Min-hee was recognized under the guidance of studio director Cha Mi-jin. Cha serves as Vice President of the Korea Therapy Yoga Association and Head of the Honam–Jeju Region, leading integrated education in yoga and therapy across the southwest region. From Seo Min-sook Yoga Center in Oedong, Gimhae, Jo Ye-seom was selected; Director Seo Min-sook is a registered board member of KTYA and Vice President of the K-Wall International Alliance, as well as Head of the Yeongnam Region, playing a key role in wall yoga and Therapy Wall–based teacher training. The third awardee, An Seong-ji of Alive Yoga in Sangdae-dong, Jinju, studies under Director Park Ji-eun, who is Chair of the KTYA Yold Academy and a YO&P Membership lecturer, specializing in yoga education for middle-aged and older adults.
The RYTK300+ exam itself consisted of a one-hour written test in yoga philosophy, followed by practical assessment of asana alignment and performance, jala neti, yogic breathing, bandha work and a simulated teaching segment. According to Chief Examiner Kang, the three outstanding candidates ¡°did not stop at demonstrating their own practice level, but showed teaching language and sequence design that prioritized students¡¯ safety and recovery above all.¡± Particular weight was given to how they explained poses to beginners, offered modifications for sensitive areas such as the lumbar spine and knees, and guided breathing and relaxation throughout the class structure.
All successful candidates from the 45th exam will be registered as full members of YO&P Membership from January 2026. YO&P functions as a professional education platform for yoga and Pilates teachers, providing systematic support in sequence construction, practical teaching techniques, cueing, class flow and closure design. The three outstanding candidates, along with their peers, will receive concrete training aimed at enabling them to design classes that are immediately applicable in real studio settings.
Beyond the initial phase, YO&P members gain lifetime access, free of charge, to approximately 70 specialized completion courses. These cover a wide array of fields including Yin Yoga, Hatha Yoga, prop-based therapeutic practice, dynamic styles such as Vinyasa and Ashtanga, life-stage programs such as kids, prenatal and yold (young-old) yoga, as well as advanced wellness credentials like Yoga Therapist and Brain Therapy Instructor. Through this structure, the Korea Therapy Yoga Association has built a professional growth pathway that progresses from basic qualification to specialized credentials, to ¡°respected instructor¡± status and finally to research and public presentation.
KTYA President Park Young-bin commented that the three awardees ¡°represent emerging leaders who have grown within the education centers of the Honam region, the Yeongnam region and the western Gyeongnam area, and who will carry forward yoga, therapy and lifestyle healing in their local communities.¡± He added that KTYA and YO&P Membership will continue to support RYTK300+ graduates as they connect to seven-track professional certifications and academic activities, positioning the system as a true platform for yoga as a recognized profession in the AI era.
This announcement of outstanding performers from the 45th RYTK300+ Yoga Teacher Certification Examination once again demonstrates that the Korea Therapy Yoga Association is not merely issuing certificates, but actively designing and sustaining a system that shapes the lifelong careers and professional status of yoga teachers.
