Korea Yoga Meditation Association Launches ¡°100 Nights of Yoga Meditation¡± on February 23
— Mandatory Practicum for Yoga Meditation Trainer200 (Level 3), Private Credential Reg. No. 2019-004696; Weekday Leaders Deliver a 100-Day Embodied Meditation Training System —

The Korea Yoga Meditation Association (Korea Yoga Meditation Association, headed by President Kyung-In Ham), an affiliated institute under the Korea Therapy Yoga Association (Korea Therapy Yoga Association, KTYA), will begin its signature program, ¡°100 Nights of Yoga Meditation,¡± on February 23. This initiative is a required practicum for registrants of the Yoga Meditation Trainer200 (Level 3) certification program (Private Credential Registration No. 2019-004696). Over 100 consecutive days, participants practice together each night and translate what they learn into teachable methods—an ¡°embodied training¡± system designed to produce instructors who can deliver meditation in real-world studio settings.

The Association has developed a distinctly Korean model of lifestyle-based meditation through long-running projects such as ¡°100 Nights of Yoga Meditation,¡± restorative meditation programs, and singing bowl meditation initiatives. This new cycle formalizes those field-tested experiences into a standardized certification practicum. Rather than emphasizing passive learning, the program focuses on repetition and integration: aligning the body, stabilizing breath, guiding attention, and cultivating pratyahara (the withdrawal of the senses) so that practitioners can reliably downshift the nervous system into a recovery state. By placing the practice at the end of the day, the program aims to restructure bedtime routines and support sustainable self-regulation in everyday life.

A defining feature is its leadership rotation by weekday theme, enabling participants to absorb diverse teaching languages, pacing, and class design strategies. On Mondays, Sujin Kim (Director, Seocho Shanti Yoga) leads Breath Meditation, presenting a precise approach to stabilizing the nervous system by refining respiratory patterns on a well-aligned body—focusing on thoracic mobility and diaphragmatic coordination. Tuesdays are led by Kyung-In Ham, Director of the mita.Lab Yoga Meditation Studio in Banpo, Seoul, with a ¡°Meditation Trainer¡± session that emphasizes the fundamentals of teaching: class structure, cueing language, assessing participant readiness, and safety guidelines—turning meditation into a repeatable curriculum rather than a one-off experience.

Wednesdays feature Singing Bowl Meditation guided by Hyojin Jung (Sejong Jung Hyojin Yoga & Mind Healing Yoga), exploring practical protocols that use resonance and vibration to reduce attentional scattering and support sensory withdrawal. On Thursdays, Sunhyun Lee (Yoga Hill, Mia-dong, Gangbuk) leads Aroma Meditation, integrating olfactory cues with breath and relaxation techniques to build a recovery-oriented routine that can be applied immediately in the field. Fridays focus on Yoga Nidra Meditation led by Youngbin Park (Cheongju Viniyoga & Daom Pilates), delivering systematic strategies for deep relaxation and ¡°downshifting¡± before sleep. Weekend special workshops are conducted by Heesoo Park (Daon Yoga & Flying, Hyeonggok Branch, Gumi), strengthening participants¡¯ ability to design meditation classes and apply methods effectively in real teaching environments.

The Association emphasizes that the program is not merely a requirement for certification but a process of building ¡°inner strength¡± and professional reliability as a meditation instructor. Participants keep a daily practice log, distill the day¡¯s key points into language, and convert personal insights into class scripts and teaching plans. In this way, felt experience becomes instructional language, and instructional language becomes a deliverable program. The rotating weekday themes also function as a practical feedback system: some days breathing feels stable, while on others sensory withdrawal is difficult—participants learn to observe variability and self-correct, which the Association considers a core marker of teaching competence. Most importantly, the nightly group practice trains consistency—the hardest skill for instructors to model and sustain—by establishing a shared routine that supports long-term adherence.

President Kyung-In Ham noted, ¡°As AI and digital tools advance, what people need is not faster information, but an inner technology for recovery. Only instructors who have embodied pratyahara through the body, breath, and sensory awareness over 100 days can guide real restoration in the field.¡± After completion, the Association plans continued support so graduates can lead restorative meditation, singing bowl, breath, and nidra-based programs at regional training centers, with ongoing content updates and advanced leader trainings.

¡°100 Nights of Yoga Meditation¡± begins on February 23, and participation is mandatory for all registrants in the Yoga Meditation Trainer200 (Level 3) certification program (Private Credential Registration No. 2019-004696). Details on participation and local center recruitment will be announced through the official channels of the Korea Yoga Meditation Association and the Korea Therapy Yoga Association.
